She knows you’re here to serve her, and she doesn’t care if you like her. But you’d better snap to it, and get it right this time, or you will pay dearly. Feared throughout the service industry, she brings even the grandest of 5-star restaurants to their knees. Think your restaurant is worthy of the much-coveted RoseBlood Smooch of Approval? It’s likely she’ll just give you the finger. Or several of them, if you really suck. Oh, and she knows what you’re thinking. And she’s going to make you pay for that too.

THE SIESTA KEY OYSTER BAR - SIESTA KEY, FLORIDA

As my husband and I just returned from our long awaited, and well deserved honeymoon, I felt that it was fitting to share with you some of the dining ( and drinking) experiences we had while on our adventure.

Siesta Key has a wide array of restaurants, while I love seafood - my hubby does not - so we had to find a place that appealed to both of us - AND had a full bar menu as well. We came upon The Siesta Key Oyster Bar, or SKOB as the natives like to call it. This place ROCKS.

We started with several appetizers, including wings, oysters on the half shell, and the SKOB quesadillas.

Now, as I previously stated, my hubby is not a big seafood fan- but we both LOVED the SKOB quesadillas, which have both shrimp and crabmeat in them.

While I devoured the raw oysters alone (I am not complaining) - he enjoyed the super hot wings.

Of course we drank, and drank heavily - the drinks here are strong folks, and damn good.

Keep in mind, I know a good cocktail when I taste one, and I can drink a football team under the table.

Almost too full to order any main courses, we ventured on- after all we were on vacation, and we needed some good protein to coat our stomachs from the mass consumption of liquor.

I ordered the SKOB Beach Extravaganza - steak, crab legs, and clams.

Hubby, the infamous carnivore - ordered sirloin steak.

Both dished cooked to perfection, and quite tasty.

But enough about the great food. SKOB offers something for everyone. During our dinner, there was a great band playing, which I completely enjoyed. There is also a television broadcasting all the sporting events.

Hubby watched football, while I watched the band.

SKOB truly offers something for everyone, and the service is impeccable.

If you should ever travel to Siesta Key - and I thoroughly recommend it - You must go to Siesta Key Oyster Bar.

You really haven't see Florida - until you have seen Siesta Key.

Rose Blood.

COUNTRY PANCAKE HOUSE- RIDGEWOOD NEW JERSEY- REVIEW

Let it be known for future reference... this is the first and LAST restaurant
that I will review that doesn't have a liquor license and doesn't take reservations. I am making the exception for The Country Pancake House in Ridgewood because I love pancakes, and well, this place deserves the recognition. Okay, so here it is...

Before I begin, I want everyone to know how difficult it is for me to actually give a good review for a restaurant. I don't like having to wait for a butter knife, or steak sauce, or a bread plate. However, the Country Pancake House in Ridgewood is actually getting a good review from me. Yep, that's right - a good review.

Guys, the place ROCKS!

The pancakes are the size of small tires, AND there are well over 50 varieties. The place prides itself on it's juice bar, where you can get an array of homemade, freshly-squeezed juices. What is not to like?

My friend Joe and I went on a Saturday afternoon - deliberately at lunch hour - just to put this place to the test. Granted, we had to wait like the rest of the hungry Ridgewood people, BUT it was so worth it. I had macadamia nut/chocolate chip pancakes and they were amazing. Joe had chocolate chip pancakes, again amazing. We chose various sides, including sausage, hash browns, and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella Sticks? Well, we wanted to put a twist in our order. AND The Country Pancake House serves all kinds of lunch and dinner specials too.

The service was phenomenal. This waitress hussled. We asked for extra butter, and boom we had it. We asked for extra syrup - boom! We had it. Joe actually order bacon halfway through our lunch. He expected to wait quite some time to get this, but Joe had his bacon in less than 5 minutes. AND this was during the lunch rush.

We left the restaurant full. That is such a plus for me. I can't tell you how pissed off I get when I go out to a restaurant and the portions are small and pathetic.

Let it be known that since my excursion here with my friend Joe, he has been back TWICE with his wife and father. Everyone he takes to this place RAVES. I will be back as well - too bad The Country Pancake House in Ridgewood doesn't have a liquor license.

SAHMs

I was taking a smoke break the other day, while living my life in Corporate America, when I overheard a former "corporate" coworker discussing the topics of "Stay At Home Moms." This former coworker's name is irrelevant, but for the sake of this article we will call her "Fuck Face."

Now, Fuck Face made it known that she was part of the “Corporate World” for well over 15 years now, and that all of her children had been in daycare. Fuck Face then made it known that mom’s that chose to stay home are either uneducated or simply lazy. ??????????????????

I was fuming, of course, but I kept my mouth shut in order to be “PC”.

Stay At Home Mom’s are far from lazy. In fact, they have the hardest job possible. Stay At Home Mom’s have a varied range of educations and degrees. I know of several women that stay home with their children that were once Chemists, Doctors, Attorneys, and Teachers.

Stay At Home Mom’s are willing to give up going out to dinner three times a week, getting their nails done, or buying the “gourmet” ice cream.

Sometimes, Stay At Home Mom’s are doing so because the cost of day-care is too high, and working outside of the home simply does not pay.

I think that society as a whole needs to recognize what the feminist movement is really about - CHOICE. CHOOSING to give birth, and CHOOSING to stay at home with your children, is not lazy - it is commendable.

By the way, “Fuck Face” got laid off the other day. She is now a stay at home mom. I feel like crank calling her and saying “Feeling Lazy Yet?”
