I couldn't help myself, hadda post about this...
Okay, so the bailout bill got killed. Some Republicans decided to try and blame Nancy Pelosi for giving such a "partisan" speech, causing them to cry in the corner. BTW, here's the speech if you want to see what all was partisan (please let me know, I don't see it).
On top of this, McCain slimes his way around taking credit for getting this bill done, just before it gets completely killed. Chris Matthews hangs him out to dry.
Barney Frank asks for the names of those 12 Republicans who's feelings got hurt so he can "go talk uncharacteristically nicely to them and tell them what wonderful people they are, and maybe they’ll now think about the country." I love you Barney.

Got to thinking yesterday... I think McCain and the GOP are showing their sexist selves off by choosing Palin. She was picked because she's a woman, she's pretty, and she's a mom. She's trotted out as if being picked just because you're a woman actually counts for anything (notice I have avoided that loaded term, "qualified"; as in "qualified woman").
Not to mention, she is, like "a good woman", to be seen and not heard, to not speak until spoken to (and given permission to speak), to not share her own opinions (and preferably not have any). Her job is to be a pretty mouthpiece and cheerleader. McCains trophy wife; coming soon to ballots near you!
It's sexist, and its insulting.
There will be a bailout and we'll be paying for it for a LONG time. There's too much pressure to make the stock market "look good", even though the dollar is stronger than ever!
The proposed bill should have been to authorize no-cost measures, start some expanded oversight/regulations, and establish a working committee that includes economic experts -not just political people (if there are any).
