Clinton Caught Spinning Tales Again

So when she tries to court superdelegates by telling them she is more electable, is that because she thinks voters would rather be spun fantastic stories? Sorry, sweetheart, we've had 8 years of THAT shit already.

From AMERICAblog (link also has video):

Okay, this is not good for the Clinton campaign. Not good at all. Clinton has been regularly telling a very sad and tragic health care story in her campaign stump speech that is not true.

The NY Times has the article. The JedReport has video of Clinton telling the story again yesterday -- and it's not pretty. As Jed notes, "The level of detail with which Clinton tells this yarn is breathtaking." Today, the Clinton campaign admitted to CNN, "In this case, we did try, but were not able to fully vet it." What? How can that be? Seriously....

MG,

i know you've drunk the Obama kool-aid, I accept that, cheerlead for him all you want, but it pains me to see you beat up Sen. Clinton so much. You are sounding like a rightwing talk show nut... you are doing their work... Nyah Nyah Clinton did this today... SHE'S A LIAR... Nyah nyah.

I'm just sayin'. I just think it serves the party better to promote your own candidate. Wouldn't your OWN time be better served? Think about it. Promote Obama's ideas, and plans for the White House... what he will do to make things better. You've made it pretty clear you can't stand Hillary. POint taken already. Overkill.
Why not move on to what you stand FOR ---not the day to day BS already posted on other sites.

You can read this and just delete it if you want. I like your blog, I do. I'm just saying, you could better spend your time and energy and writing talent by contributing
more positive ideas about Obama than negative things about Clinton.

At first, I took your comment to heart... I mean I certainly don't want people to think I just sit around nitpicking at Clinton.

So I went over all the posts I can see on the home page right now:

-Negative of Clinton
-Audio/photo montage of RFK announcing MLK's death
-Negative of McCain
-Negative of Clinton
-Negative of Clinton
-Positive of Obama
-Negative of Bush Administration
-Negative of Clinton
-Positive of Moxie reader
-Positive of Obama
-Negative of Bush Administration
-Negative of Clinton
-Several bits including a positive for Obama, a negative for FOX News, a negative for Clinton, a positive for the American people and a negative for the Bush Administration
-Negative of both Clinton AND Obama fans
-Positive for The Nation
-Positive for the American public to understand the economic situation
-Negative of Bush Administration
-Positive of Obama
-Negative of Bill Clinton
-Negative of FOX
-Negative of Bush Admin
-Negative of Clinton's campaign tactics
-Positive of Obama

Quite frankly, I see no issue with the amount of times I have pointed out when Hillary and stretched the truth, or done something to help kill her own shot at the White House. If I had seen a huge dispartity among what I've been posting (i.e. more than 50% focused just on her), then perhaps I would accept that I was just picking on her and ease up.

But you know what? I'm not. I am posting what's in the news. I am posting my disappointment in her. I am posting, for all those Clinton fans, the reason I do NOT support her. The reasons why I think she is drifting further and further towards the same ol' politics of the big boys in power now. The stuff that makes my skin crawl.

And you accuse me of having "drunk the Obama kool-aid". That's quite a rude poke, and unbecoming of an the intelligent person I believe you to be. Shall I say you've drunk the Clinton kool-aid? I don't want to, because I truly think the only people who have drunk any kool-aid are those poor bastards who still think Bush and Cheney are such swell guys.

In short, I hear you, but I disagree that I have been abnormally poking at Clinton. However, i will be happy to include more positive things about Obama as per your request.

PS: Just so we're clear... I will not curtail my criticisms of Clinton when I feel they are warranted. I actually believe I have been rather kind to her by NOT harping on some of her crap.

And I also reject your insinuation that I am akin to right wingnut websites. You will never see me poke fun at her for being a woman, posting unflattering photos that have been further photoshopped to put her in a bad light, or reference the Monica Lewinski thing. The moment I do, you can feel free to compare me to right wingnut websites.

You sound pretty good to me, Moxie, just keep on doing what you're doing.

Clinton supporters are getting more and more sensitive about her tactics and you can't blame them when she keeps making up these stories.

I think she either needs to find another campaign manager or pack it in.

I wish more was being said about all these fairy tales - Clinton's getting out of hand. Sad and bad for the whole party.
