Never Thought I'd Say This
But thanks to Matt Drudge. Yeah, no seriously.
He broke a story back in December that I missed, well, because I don't like Matt Drudge. Seems that top advisors to John McCain's 2000 campaign were convinced he was messing around with a telecom lobbyist and had to “intervene to protect McCain from himself.”
O rly? This should be an interesting year in politics.

UPDATE: The conservative American Spectator says the NYT had this story over a month ago but McCain threatened to sue them. If the Times if running with the story now, after holding off for 5 weeks, it means they nailed it with more witnesses. Actually, this goes back two months.
UDPATE: McCain refuses to deny an affair or that his staff had to intervene.

Heh...imagine if this had happened if McCain had become President...I really wonder if the GOP would react to this the same rabid way they did to Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky debacle...
*rolls eyes*
(PS Hi, MG, haven't visited here in AGES! Good to see you're still around and kickin' butt. :) )
