McCain Distances Himself From Comments

Bravo. While I do not agree with McCain and still think he's a pretty big nut, I was pleasantly surprised to see him take a stand against remarks made by a radio talk show host who called Obama a "hack, Chicago-style Daley politician" and repeatedly reminded the audience that his middle name is Hussein.

I think he should have made more of an effort when a supporter asked him how to "beat the bitch" (re: Clinton), but I am guessing he learned his lesson from that and came right out of the gate with an apology this time.

"I apologize for it," McCain told reporters, addressing the issue before they had a chance to ask the Arizona senator about Cunningham's comments.

"I did not know about these remarks, but I take responsibility for them. I repudiate them," he said. "My entire campaign I have treated Senator Obama and Senator (Hillary Rodham) Clinton with respect. I will continue to do that throughout this campaign."

McCain called both Democrats "honorable Americans" and said, "I want to dissociate myself with any disparaging remarks that may have been said about them."

I DO try to give props where due...

This is a perfect conspiracy of mass hypnosis: they leak the photo blame clinton. the photo image runs... re-enforces the whole muslim thing- Clinton gets blamed looks like a bigot-

then talk show host Bill Cunningham - "while warming up a campaign crowd [for McCain] referred repeatedly to Barack Hussein Obama -used it three times as he addressed the crowd before the likely Republican nominee's appearance." This re-enforces the mental picture of Obama dressed as a Muslim [From the pic we all just saw in the news] The picture sits in the audiences minds eye while McCain gives his speech.

Then after the speech McCain apologizes for the talk show guy so that he doesn't look like that bigot Clinton and finally the media plays these stories back to back re-enforcing Obama the Muslim, Clinton the bigot,"Bitch" and McCain the honorable war veteran who needs to appease the democrats who don't like the war....
I'm tellin ya it reeks like Rove in here.

This isn't as innocent as it seems. I was watching Tucker just now and one of the reporters on there, a lady, sorry I didn't catch her name said that McCain had openly commented to the press corps that he would be nice to Hillary and its common knowledge that he would much prefer to run against her.

Bill Cunningham made that comment at a McCain Rally and he was invited by McCain campaign with full knowledge of how this guy talks and behaves. It was no surprise to anyone. See this link:

http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/2008/02/26/mccain-apologizes-for-radio-hosts-obama-comments-at-rally/

What I am saying is that this was a predictable event, and McCain had planned or hoped something like this would happen, and apologized according to plan also.

I don't feel that any reward is due to McCain for apologizing to the crowd at the event when he came on.

However, it was classier than how Hillary reacted to BET founder Bob Johnson's introduction of Hillary last month which isn't saying a lot.

You can read on that here:

I know she didn't apologize that night, but I do think she eventually did, not sure though.

This week has been fun. I have posted several new posts on mine and several on my friends sites. I noticed today, I now have 3 subscribers, whoohoo, hehe.

I have been trying to find a good tracking software for it, feedburner doesn't seem to show much, to track my brave 3 visitors a month. Laughing at myself. If anyone knows one, please let me know. I love puttering around with website trinkets.

My background check went good and I hope that job I got offered gets certified soon. Then off to work I go. I can't wait.

This is probably the type of thing that will be going on all season. The campaigns will frame the other candidates into roles that play on your subconscious fears and then retract or disavow statements after the damage has been,
"The Jury is instructed to disregard that last statement!"...Yeah right thats the good stuff.

any belief i had that McCain was at least a little more honorable than your average GOPer is rapidly flying out the window.

the RNC is "Bad cop" calling Obama a muslim or whatever, then McCain gets to be "Good Cop" and denounce the RNC, after the damage has been done.

you know, McCain is an american war hero, but that doesn't entitle him to be a dick the rest of his life.

You gotta love this headline at POAC:

"Mike Huckabee angry he DIDN'T get the endorsement of the rabidly anti-Catholic reverend who McCain's going to have to reject and denounce later on this week"

It doesn't surprise me. Sen. McCain is an honorable man. He is a war hero. He stands up for what he believes, and crosses party lines to the degree of being called a "maverick". I like, and respect the man, but not his politics.

Sen. McCain's experience as a Vietnam War POW is seen in the movie "Faith of My Fathers". If you get a chance to see it, please do.
