OT: Juno

Saw Juno last night, and REALLY, REALLY liked it. I was incredibly impressed by the way the movie NEVER went cliche. Parts you would say to yourself "oh no, I see where this is headed..." would veer off into a completed different direction. The entire cast was fantastic, the characters were believable and likable, stereotypical relationships (such as her relationship with her step-mother) were rejected. Even the soundtrack was awesome.

My only big beef with the film is that Jason Bateman portrays a commercially successful musician (as in, he write commercial jingles), yet a 16 year old is introducing him to Iggy Pop and Mott the Hoople. My husband and I are close to his character's age and we do not believe that anyone who could make a living BEING a musical composer wouldn't have been well versed in 70's punk/rock. Just not feasable.

But in any case, a great flick. I hope this gets some awards.

I wondered about the same thing. I am 10 years older than the characters and of course was right in the middle of it. The other thing I wondered about was how she (Juno) was so well versed when she didn't dress or act punk. That didn't exactly ring true.

Moxie,

there is a bewildering array of choices to investigate on the website you linked to, but what's missing is wtf is the movie about?

Newsboy,

this might explain the holes in the knowledge and the missing look.

"Growing Up Online," FRONTLINE peers inside he world of this cyber-savvy generation through the eyes of teens and their parents,
