Edwards Is Out
I am disappointed, but not surprised. I figured it was a longer shot from the beginning. He gained some steady ground, but not enough to rise above the capital that Obama and Clinton had.
On the other hand, it seems that because Obama and Edwards appear to have similar ideas and opinions, Obama might pick Edwards as his Attorney General. If true, I would be very, very pleased.
My mom sent me this political compass (no, it's not THAT one) that will help show you where your opinions lay among the candidates in the running. I took it, and my marker landed right on Obama's picture. Give it a shot and see where you land!

I was convinced I would vote for Edwards on Tuesday. Now what do I do?!?!
That political compass is being passed around the internets like crazy...I was just like John in every category except gun control, (although they did base his stance on a comment made while in a red state, so what can you expect...).
FYI: This was the political compass that I've seen a hundred times before: http://www.politicalcompass.org/
Updating post regarding that.
I take issue with that political compass's exclusion of candidate Mike Gravel.
Having taken many political quizzes, I can say with confidence that Mike Gravel is the candidate that most closely matches my political philosophy. This quiz would lead me to believe that Obama is my closest match.
I was under the impression that that site was designed to help me discover my position in the political landscape for the USA presidential election of 2008 (as this is the stated purpose of the site). What the site actually did was attempt to divert me from a perfectly legitimate candidate, in favor of another.
Moxie, whether you agree with Sen. Gravel or not, I suggest you give him the recognition he deserves. I understand that this is your platform for free speech, but I'm asking in the interest of preventing "the environment [from] being destroyed and my country [from] turning into a hole because of the fuckheads in power right now."
I hear what you're saying Cap, and I think it would be great is Gravel WAS included, but I didn't create the compass.
I went to the website to find out how they chose which candidates they included but did not see a specific system. Why not ask them yourself?
I apologize if I sounded harsh, and I know you didn't purposefully exclude Gravel by posting that compass. But even a simple Google search will reveal that Hillary Clinton is mentioned in 36 of your posts and Barack Obama in 30. Gravel has not yet been mentioned on MoxieGrrrl.com, other than in two comments. I get that this site is for you to discuss news stories, and that Obama and Hillary generate more press than Gravel, but as a fervent Gravel supporter, it's bothersome when it seems like even my favorite alt.news sources ignore him.
I really did sympathize with you when you posted about Edwards' getting the shaft on media coverage, but what little face-time he got is far better than what Gravel has been getting. I hope you can understand my frustration when Mike Gravel, an active supporter of ending the war in Iraq, the only remaining candidate for whom nuclear strike is off the table with regards to Iran, the candidate with the most aggressive agenda for controlling climate change, the only remaining candidate who supports gay marriage, and the only remaining candidate who has not ruled out impeachment for Bushco's crimes, is ignored by MoxieGrrrl of all people.
Again, I don't mean to sound harsh, nor do I purport to tell you what to post. It's been a tough battle for us Gravelians as well, and every ounce of media coverage goes a long way.
