The New Missing 18 Minutes...
Seems the White House has conveniently "lost" 5 million emails over the last two years. Sen. Pat Leahy not buying that cow.
He's absolutely right, it's HARD to completely destroy emails. First you have to destroy (and by destroy, I mean completely decimate... use rayguns that disintegrate for best results) the computer they originated from, then you have to destroy the computer they ended up on, and possibly any servers that may have been passthroughs. Unless I am completely mistaken, someone should just call DriveSavers and hand them over.
Oh, and if you didn't already know, this means the White House didn't follow it's own procedures and broke the law by "losing" these emails.

Leahy: …And they say they have not been preserved. I don't believe that. I don't believe that. You can't erase emails; not today…Those emails are there. They don't want to produce them. It's like the famous 18 minute gap in the Nixon WH tapes. They say they've been erased or misplaced. They're there. They know they're there. And we'll subpoena them if necessary and we'll have them…

You know what your right moxie.
1.) Sent mail folder has the emails (not sure if the RNC system deletes that too)
2.) SMTP server usually keeps a log of the emails, IP address of computers that it get sent to
3.)pop3 servers keeps logs, however not sure if the RNC servers delete that too
4.)plus hard drives which emails are stored on don't really "delete" files unless its that "deleted" data is rewritten over several times.
5.) Those IP addresses I talked about in #2; I, or any good network admin can use the ARP/RARP protocol to get the MAC Address, a key evidence to find the exact computer the email was sent from. From there the FBI can sift that computer to look for data.
Conclusion: Thats a load of bull coming from the Liars' den on pennsylvalnia.
Poor Karl Rove. He has 4 years of emails missing. How will he defend himself?
Guess you can't always hide corruption.
