Interviewer Jason Jones pretended to stumble over Blagojevich's name before calling him "Governor Smith." He urged Blagojevich to explain the contraception issue by playing the role of "a hot 17-year-old" and later asked if he was "the gay governor."
They also interviewed a Republican Rep who knew the score and was surprised that the Governor wasn't hip enough to know what it was all about. Dude, when you've got a Republican - FROM ILLINOIS - calling you unhip, that's just pathetic.

Saw that yesterday. "Smith" must be completely clueless. Kinda hard to believe that anyone (let alone a politician) doesn't know that the Daily Show is a comedy. I suppose it's possible . . . but it's even more amazing that not only did he not know this, apparently no one on his press staff (who would have been intimately involved in this) bothered to mention it to him. Gotta wonder what his opponent was like, if someone as clueless as him got elected :)
Out here in "Flyover" country we call him Rod the Mod or Blago Boy. He was running against a pretty clueless wonder and the previous governor is currently on trial for corruption so he was supposed to be the great Dem hope. Instead, it looks like we may lose the guv's mansion to the republicans again because Rod is, sadly, pretty clueless.
Blago is just a hairdo, a lightweight, a guy with a rich well-connected father-in-law.
He'll win again because the Illinois Republicans running against him are equally worthless.
