Funny how it's just one big circle, (jerk?).

Miers Briefed Bush on Famous Bin Laden Memo, But Newspapers Handle the AP Photo Quite Differently
On its front page Tuesday, The New York Times published a photo of new U.S. Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers going over a briefing paper with President George W. Bush at his Crawford ranch “in August 2001,” the caption reads.
USA Today and the Boston Globe carried the photo labeled simply “2001,” but many other newspapers ran the picture in print or on the Web with a more precise date: Aug. 6, 2001.
Does that date sound familiar? Indeed, that was the date, a little over a month before 9/11, that President Bush was briefed on the now-famous “PDB” that declared that Osama Bin Laden was “determined” to attack the U.S. homeland, perhaps with hijacked planes. But does that mean that Miers had anything to do with that briefing?
As it turns out, yes, according to Tuesday's Los Angeles Times. An article by Richard A. Serrano and Scott Gold observes that early in the Bush presidency “Miers assumed such an insider role that in 2001 it was she who handed Bush the crucial 'presidential daily briefing' hinting at terrorist plots against America just a month before the Sept. 11 attacks.”

There has been memos circuiting in Government departments for decades.
I recall Ollie North warning Congress.
Congress did not respond.
I think Congress ignored it. (They knew it would happen, not how and when)
Why else would Democrats and Republicans hold hands and sing on the Senate Lawn?
They hit pay-dirt.
Lot’s of money to funnel, Lot’s of Power, Lot’s of new legislation more control.
This is what they do with the extra money:
These same bastards gave Alaska 29 Million dollars for “Seafood Promotion”
Alaska Air was given 500,000.00 to paint one of their planes like a salmon.

What Freakin Planet are they on?
Why is a commercial industry getiing kicks?
We are doomed; they are all bad apples.
It’s vote for bad guy or bad guy same family.
I swear, the R's (as Molly calls 'em) have been in power so long, and wielded power with such a Machiavellian iron fist, that I wince and grit when I hear any variation of "Democratic victory". Who/what is John Roberts? Is a he really a bland "by-the-books-ma'm" Constitutionist? Or does he stick long, silver pins into a Howard Dean doll under a full moon?
Is Miers a nice, grandmotherly type who justs passes papers with a smile on her face? Or would she offer Teddy Kennedy a tall, double shot of scotch?
You said "briefed bush". hehehe.
I think I've found a solution though. He does not need to be briefed. He needs to be boxed. About the head and shoulders.
hehehe
Iggy, out of curiosity, what do you remember Ollie North warning Congress about? It's not the completely bogus internet/urban legend about Bin Laden & North's home security, is it?

no not that urban legend;
Terrorism in General not Bin Shithead
You don't seriously think that Bush would nominate anyone to the Supreme Court unless he KNEW how they would vote on the issues do you? There is no mystery to any of the shenanigans going on in this administration. There's nothing to guess or wonder about. Bush has been the most consistant president in history because he doesn't consider anything about anything except what he wants and he won't pick anyone for any position that he doesn't personally know. Like all rich and powerful people he doesn't trust anyone until they PROVE their loyalty. Roberts has been a loyal component of the Bush agenda beginning with the Reagan/Bush and then Bush 12 years and continuing to remain close to the family ever since. His current nominee is the one who, when Bush was Governor of Texas, fixed the lottery scandal and engineered the $23,000,000 pay off that was supposed to keep quiet the congressman that used his influence to jump Bush into the Texas Air National Guard to avoid the draft. Bush was then planning to run for president and she was hired to "clean up" his background of anything that could be used against him.
Bush doesn't have the interest or capability to research anything or even review the research of others. He doesn't read, he doesn't listen, and he has no ability to focus long enough to think things through. Bush is a belligerent drunk that rebelled in the shadow of daddy's power. He is the typical first born of the rich powerful family. Read Psyc101. Spoiled beyond belief, cruel to people and animals, no regard for consequence, and only motivated to prove to daddy. He has no money or budget sense because he never had to earn any money. Rich people simply take more from the poor when they need it and in government that translates to reducing needed social programs for the poor to pay for what he wants to do and to buy powerful allies. He is a great front runner when on top but reaches for the bottle to compensate for his natural insecurity when down and turns the responsibility over to someone else (like Rove) to bail him out (like daddy did) or blame for his own failings if it doesn't work. He is exactly the opposite of the image that has been painted of him by his handlers.
One other food for thought: If you look at the sitting supreme court (include Rhenquist if you like) notice that the less time any of them spent actually sitting on the bench as judges, the further to the right and the more prone to religious ideological influence in their decision making they are. Those who have many years of rendering decisions involved with interpreting state and federal laws and constitutions and weighing the realist impact of their decisions upon the country and its people are much more prone to moderate realistic thinking. Whereas, those who haven't had that experience tend to have an ivory tower view with less regard for impact and reality. What too many of these legal eagles forget is that the genius of the people who wrote the constitution designed it so that it could evolve with the changes of time and was not intended as written in stone like the Christian demagogues ten commandments. The US Constitution is a "fluid" mandate.
He said "fluid" and "mandate" hehehehe.
