Delayed Indictments

I'm so damn clever with those titles. Yep, a real Shakespeare.

Anywho. Tommy got his ass indicted AGAIN today. Thanks those who alerted me while I was at school learnin' about State and Local Government.

A Texas grand jury on Monday re-indicted Rep. Tom DeLay on charges of conspiring to launder money and money laundering after the former majority leader attacked last week's indictment on technical grounds.

The new indictment, handed up by a grand jury seated Monday, contains two counts: conspiring to launder money and money laundering. The latter charge carries a penalty of up to life in prison. Last week, DeLay was charged with conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws.

I do believe he will be going down, in more ways than one. ;p

Delay Moves to Dismiss Charge
http://powerlineblog.com/archives/011864.php

If this turns out to be another witchhunt, will you liberals apologize?

Or will you change the subject and forget everything you said like when the charges were dismissed against Kay Bailey Hutchison, Newt Gingrich and Ray Donovan.

There is Life In Prison and then there is Texas Life In Prison. I would love to see Delay in that Texas White Prison Garb.

As far as witch hunts some people seem to have a very poor memory. If it is a witch hunt - good. So called conservatives get a taste of their own crap. If not one can be assured that Delay will get waaaay better representation that most people in Texas Prison have received. . After millions the best Starr could come up with was a blowjob. The most appealing aspect is Texas citizens are paying for this one.

Required caveat – Never supported or voted for Clinton. I have much higher standards than either Corporate Party
could ever meet.

Heir, maybe you should troll the more conservative sites such as Nationalreview.com or Freerepublic.com. They are much more to the hippocritical RINO standards you seem to support - no matter how much they shit the bed

Heir, you DO realize that Delay has been admonished by the ethics committee like FIVE TIMES in the past few years, right?

Do you think they are just out to get him? Are you paranoid on his behalf?

Just wondering.

Admonished by the ethics committee /indictment is not equivalent to conviction.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/07/delay.ethics/
""DeLay released a statement saying he would "accept the committee's guidance." But he also accused Bell of "manipulating the ethics process in pursuit of his personal vendetta."

"For years, Democrats have hurled relentless personal attacks at me, hoping to tie my hands and smear my name," he said. "All have fallen short, not because of insufficient venom but because of insufficient merit."

"With the admonishments, which carry no penalty, the ethics committee said it would take no further action on those two counts in Bell's complaint. In his statement, DeLay said the committee's decision amounted to "dismissing Mr. Bell's embellished allegations with bipartisan unanimity.""

I am waiting to see how them turns out.
You already have him convicted.

Is this the same ethics committee?

I also remember David Bonior going after Newt Gingrich in the ethic committee. Nothing came of that either.

For the record.. I want to see it all play out. A trial would be fun. Imagine.. months of testimony of what a bad person DeLay and fellow republicans are. Hey, works for me. Dare to dream.

The funny thing is... Delay & Co. did this. Not the Dems. or even other Reps. It was him and his crooked friends. If he dodges these bullets, good for him. But, as of now, he looks about as innocent as Barry Bonds.

More for the record...
How is that contract on America going?

Rule #2: select a major, independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud or abuse.

Parklife, it was sold as a Contract With America. Now we really know it is a Contract On America.

I agree with you about Delay, but the crack about 'going down' does finally imply that he would be sexually assaulted in prison. This is not a joke, as so many victims (such as those imprisoned under draconian Rockefeller drug laws in NY) have discovered. Sexual violence against men is equally heinous, imho.

Again, I cannot wait for his downfall, and hope that the whole sordid structure comes down.
