Bush Wants Miers on S. Court

Little judicial experience doesn't mean anything when your a Bush kiss-ass.

Excerpt:

President Bush nominated White House counsel Harriet Miers on Monday to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

Bush announced his choice in a televised Oval Office event saying, "For the past five years Harriet Miers has served in critical roles in our nation's government."

Miers said she was grateful and humbled by the nomination. (Watch: Miers has little judicial experience -- 2:30)

"It is the responsibility of every generation to be true to the founders' vision of the proper role of the courts in our society," she said. (Full story)

If confirmed by the Senate, Miers, 60, would join Ruth Bader Ginsburg as the second sitting female justice on the bench. O'Connor became the court's first ever female justice in 1981.

Miers, who has never been a judge, was the first woman to serve as president of the Texas State Bar and the Dallas Bar Association. She also served on the Dallas City Council. (Miers' background)

Bush is consistant, we can say that about him. Our counrty is in the hands of people who care nothing about the Constitution, the country, or the will of the people. They're nothing but power brokers intent upon having everything their way. All decisions will be made by them. That's why the only appointments they make are people who have demonstrated they have exactly the same philosophy as they and will obey their wishes. There can be no question about how any supreme court nominee Bush offers will decide on the issues that come before them. It isn't necessary to have a hearing, everyone already knows.

Bush has deliberately appointed people who have no qualifications to be a supreme court justice in order to give the candy ass democrats an excuse to confirm them. Since they have no judicial records that would automatically disqualify them the job scared demos can't be attacked by the repubs when the come up for reelection over the matter.

The repubs attack tactics has the dems cowering like children from the schoolyard bully. The only hope for this nation lies in the fact that the repub arrogance will cause them to self destruct (as it appears they are doing) to the point where the voters will vote democrat just to get the bastards out. Problem is, it may be too late.
The Courts have been stacked and the country has been looted. This administration is going to leave us in the worst recession since the great depression. We're in the beginning stage now.

My, my. What are we to make of two spinsters - and both lust after Bush?

First, Rice, with her accidental tongue slip, overheard at a dinner party saying "As I was telling my hus... the president..."

Now Miers, who seems attached to George to the point she's in danger of becoming a hemorrhoid.

Oh, well, chalk one up for sick, sycophantic loyalty. By now, shares in throat lozenges must be through the roof: a good supply becoming almost mandatory in offices across the nation.

Of course, the elephant in the room no one's mentioned is the strategic importance of stacking a court in preparation for possible extradition hearings, should war crimes questions arise...

Interestingly, historically, there have been a total of 9 Supreme Court justices with no judicial experience appointed. One, William O. Douglass, was a card-playing crony of FDR's... who went on to become one of the nation's finest jurists.

If I'm allowed a fantasy: I wonder if Harriet plays cards? Or has a secret taste for Kahlua and Irish Whiskey?

Or, both?
