Thank you, you said it even better than I could have. I love you!
Hugs and kisses, Kim. Hang in there, hon.
I was Director of the Bureau of Missing Children here in Florida for 7 years. I sent the info and pics to the right people here and there is a BOLO going out in Florida now since she indicated this was a possible destination. That's all I can do for now.
THANK YOU! SMOOCH SMOOCH HUG HUG!!!
I am forwarding that info to Kim right now!
We had a pretty good network set up with the grocery stores down here before the Amber Alert was set up. In the morning I will call my old contacts and see if I can get them to put flyers up in their windows the way we used to do it.
Every law enforcement officer in the state will have the BOLO by Saturday morning.
Keep the phone handy.
Dude you've brought tears to my eyes, thank you so much for doing what you could.
I had emailed AmericaBlog and Crooks and Liars hoping they might throw a short alert on their blogs, but nothing yet. I understand they don't do that kind of thing, but I was hoping because it was a fellow blogger they might just put up something small. If people did a fraction of what you did, SEAL, this kid will be home in no time.
Hopefully there will be great news to report really soon. Fingers crossed :)
Moxie, tell her to make up a flyer and contact prints shops. some will print them up for free for her and it's a write off for them. She must get as many fiends a d relatives as possible to put them up in high traffic areas such as grocery and convience stores/gas stations in any area of Ohio where they think she may have gone with the child. Managers of stores will always allow you to tape that sort of thing in their front windows. Go to the police stations at shift change and ask the duty Sgt. to pass them out.
The first 48 hours is crucial as the best chance of quick recovery.
I'll pass it on, but I will assume that since she has a police contact and an FBI contact working on the case, this kind of thing will be done.
Then again, I should probably not make that assumption.
Tell her to fax a copy to all pastors of all churches and ask them to post the flyer at the church entrance Sunday morning. The timing is good, it's Friday now. Gotta get lotsa coverage out ASAP.
Sent. I haven't gotten a response yet, I am hoping that's because she is busy with good news.
Me to. If not the point is not to sit around and worry - go into action. Get evryone you can on the phones and out spreading the word. Makes it easier to deal with if you feal like you're doing something positive. Good luck.
Kudos to ya moxie for running with this, and SEAL you're the deal!
I sure hope this story ends happily.
(ps mox, I posted and ran out the door earlier and didn't see your post right after mine (elsewhere)and the shout out to me until much later. I kinda felt bad I didn't see it sooner to at least acknowledge your greeting.)
No problem Sans ;)
Here is the email I received from Kim with details of Jordan's return!
Hello Everyone!
First of all, I apologize for sending a mass mailing to you all.
WE HAVE JORDAN!
The crazy bitch turned herself in to police, Jordan is in the hospital for
observation, my daughter is with him and the boy cannot stop smiling! He
hugged us all very long and very hard.
He said he knew we would find him.
He said he knew he needed to get to a phone to call 911, but his mother
wouldn't let him out of her sight.
He said she took him to "too many houses", and he is tired.
He said his mom saw something on the computer and then she saw herself on
the late local news broadcast and turned herself in.
Jordan is safe. He looks unharmed, but is exhausted. His psychiatrist has already been with him and will see him again today. The hospital is testing him for any signs of abuse, and he ate a huge meal early this morning.
Bottom line, For once a story like this has a happy ending.
Thank you all so very much for all of your support, action, friendship,
concern, love and kindness. You have no idea how much comfort you gave all
of us, to know that there were so many eyes and hearts out there looking and
doing something... You never want to know how helpless you can feel when
something like this happens.
I know it is a lot to ask, but please, alert your readers that this crisis
is over. I cannot bear the thought of anyone else worrying over our family,
and if you sent out email alerts, please send a follow up telling them that everything is ok. I would hate to see Jordan circulating 5 years from now in a chain email and end up on snopes...lol.
God, it feels good to laugh.
Thank you again, Kim
SEAL, you worked fast and I know your efforts are appreciated - you ROCK!
Glad it turned out OK and the child is safe and unharmed.
Moxie, Seal and anyone else who ran with this...
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
Love to all of you, Kim
AWESOME!
I'm glad li'l Jordan is safe and sound, but how stoned is he in that picture?
Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!
