Bill O'Reilly Must Take Spinning Classes

Because he sure is working hard to make Phil Donahue look like the bad guy. Apparently he took up quite a bit of last night's show trying to talk himself and any brain-dead viewers into believing he came out on top of that interview. Crooks&Liars caught his latest crap-flinging, News Hounds has the transcript.

DONAHUE: You saw the pictures! (reasonable tone of voice) Now listen - listen. You wouldn't send your children to this war, Bill.

O'REILLY (very angry, pointing): My nephew just enlisted in the Army. You don't know what the hell you're talkin' about!!!

DONAHUE: Very good. Very good. Congratulations! You should be proud ..

O'REILLY (starts to lose it, shouting, pointing finger, hand shaking): And he's a patriot, so don't denigrate his service or I'll boot you right off the set!!!

DONAHUE: I'm not ... I'm not ...

O'REILLY (very, very loud): That boy made a decision to serve his country!!! Do not denigrate him or you're outta here!!!

DONAHUE (calmly): I'm not Jeremy Glick, Billy.

O'REILLY: That's right!!

DONAHUE: You can't intimidate me!!

If you haven't seen the exchange, you really should check it out. Donahue was firm and refused to be beaten into submission, and O'Reilly came off sounding like a fucktard. It was more than obvious that O'Reilly was looking for a heated exchange to boost ratings and tried all kinds of tactics to get Donahue to bite - nowhere in Donahue's statements did he denegrate anyone, least of all O'Reilly's relative, but Bill went nuts and threatened to throw him out of the studio.

Prooving once again that Bill O'Reilly is a falafel whore who does nothing but bluster and shout and apparently likes loofahs. I'm very sorry his wife has so little self-esteem.

If O'Reily is a falafel, he's the nasty, cheep tasting kind...the kind that when you taste it you spit it out and say,"Well, we ain't never goin' back there again."

Does anyone watch this guy's show anymore?

OK, let me see if I got this right: O'Reilly invites Donahue on his show, knowing full well what Donahue's views are and how forcefully he expresses them. O'Reilly then takes umbrage at what Donahue says and threatens to "kick him off" the set.

And O'Reilly considers himself a professional journalist? What school did he attend? The "Robert Novak Childishly Walking Off A Live Shoot" School of Journalism?

O'Reilly is a Big Talking Head who lies, distorts, and says inane things. I was clicking through a bunch of O'Reilly-related stuff and I was stunned to find a bunch of freepers giving O'Reilly internet high-fives for being a fucking douche to Jeremy Glick. If anyone deserved to get a punch in the face that day, it was O'Reilly. He's a fucking ratings whore, and anyone who takes him seriously is delusional.

Stunned to see freepers acting like morons? You give them too much credit. Remember these are the same delusional morons that watch this guy. How pathetic are they? They can not even come up with their own lies to justify wars, CIA outings, racism, homophobia, disastrous disaster plans... ect.. They need somebody else to lie to them so they can feel good about being royal A-holes. High-Fives all around boys.

"Fucktard?" Uhhh, good one.

Say what you will about O'Reilly and his temper etc, but his ratings are through the roof. Olberman, Matthews, Deuche...these "fucktards" can't touch him.

Oh, and "Father Phil" can't even get a show on the air.

Okay...carry on being angry (fucktards ;-).

Yeah, O'Reilly's ratings may become as high as Jerry Springer's if he keeps it up. People are fascinated by stupidity.

And just proves that the educational system of this country is in the toilet.

Why would one want the Government to fund, and run the Educational System?
Is this not both dangerous and a conflict of interest?
Toss more money at the educational system.

If we didn't have a standardized national government run educational system, only those who could afford it would receive ANY education and the quality of education would be determined by financial ability (more so than now). Also, each school could have different standards, text, etc. and grades would mean nothing for evaluation.

Moxie, please find a smarter idiot to represent the other side. This ones too easy.

You mean like a community would have to "work" at it?
No handouts?
But how,.... how, did Thomas Edison Edison manage?
i.e. United States inventor; inventions included the phonograph and incandescent electric light and the microphone and the Kinetoscope (1847-1931)

Good thing Bill Gates finished school.
And Harry Truman, ect.
Money and Big Gov. is not the fix all.

Bill Gates WENT to Harvard. He didn't finish his degree. But while at Harvard he met other weirdos. School was important to Gates. If he was in a school district and parents that instilled the value of education that could get him into Harvard, he's already has the basics. (Granted a lot of school districts are shitty these days.) Uni would just provide theory. And I doubt he would have had access to brainiacs he had in cambridge at, say, Idaho State.

I think most of the benefit from going to an institution like Harvard comes from being with like minded people, people that share your intensity and interest.

In fact, Gates stated to a recent (I think) gathering of State Governors that it isn't low taxes that attracts tech to a region, but an educated work force. Tell that to Kansas.

And communities do earn education. Are you familiar
with something called taxes? And while we can probably agree the lion's share of taxes are evil, to suggest that local communities are somehow not paying their way is on the face of it retarded.

In a land of immigrants, Public education (when it works) does a hell of a job socializing and standardizing knowledge. Can you imagine where US physics would be without Brooklyn public schools? And I'm being serious. Several sons and grandsons (no daughters, unfornately) of poorly educated immigrants left the Brooklyn school disctrict with the academic basis that would propel them on to PhD in Physics. Granted, there were other factor in play...a stress on academics in their community, a lifestyle that allowed the kids to study and not bring in the wheat.

We can only maintain our economic edge if PEOPLE KNOW STUFF. Many public school districts aren't doing a helluva job, and our PhDs student are becoming more and more foreign-born.

But some schools manage nicely, and our rise to dominance in the world had not a little to do with a high school educated person having some grounding in how shit gets down in the universe. We've lost our way, but abandoning the model that got us here seems irredeemably retarded.

Personally, I'm going to send my kids to private school, because our local district sucks shit. It's irritating, because we are surrounded by districts that are amazing.

Then how the hell do we explain Bush with his MBA from Harvard? Laffin ot loud! Amazing what money and a CIA daddy in the White House can buy, ain't it.

My statement assumes the person in quesiton had intensity and interest to begin with. Harvard can only do so much.
