Wow, They Have Brass Ones

And here I thought they could sink no lower in their attempts to pull out 9/11 sympathy. I should have learned by now: never underestimate the sliminess of this administration.

The Pentagon will hold a massive march and country music concert to mark the fourth anniversary of 9/11, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said in an unusual announcement tucked into an Iraq war briefing yesterday.

"This year the Department of Defense will initiate an America Supports You Freedom Walk," Rumsfeld said, adding that the march would remind people of "the sacrifices of this generation and of each previous generation."...

Word of the event startled some observers. "I've never heard of such a thing," said John Pike, who has been a defense analyst in Washington for 25 years and runs GlobalSecurity.org.

The news also reignited debate and anger over linking Sept. 11 with the war in Iraq.

"That piece of it is disturbing since we all know now there was no connection," said Paul Rieckhoff, an Iraq veteran who heads Operation Truth, an anti-administration military booster.

Rieckhoff suggested the event was an ill-conceived publicity stunt. "I think it's clear that their public opinion polls are in the toilet," he said.

Rumsfeld's walk had some relatives of 9/11 victims fuming.

"How about telling Mr. Rumsfeld to leave the memories of Sept. 11 victims to the families?" said Monica Gabrielle, who lost her husband in the attacks.

Administration supporters insisted Rumsfeld was right to link Iraq and 9/11, and hold the rally.

Yes, let's link Iraq and 9/11 (again), because they have so much to do with each other (this is why the majority of FOX viewers believed they were linked, right? Because this kind of bad shit gets tossed out there?).

What is it with these friggin people!!! 9/11 rememberences should be respectful and solemn events, not damn parties. Are they so desperate to increase their poll numbers that they will resort to exploiting the memories of the victims of 9/11 and their families?!

I can just picture the tv promos now..." "It's the 9/11 rememberence show!!! With celebrity guests including minnie me, carrot top , and Britney Spears!!!" What other disrespectful events is the goverment gonna host during this rememberence? A Bin-Laden look alike contest?!

The families of the 9/11 victims are the only ones who should be deciding how to commemorate 9/11.

This administration has no morals whatsoever!

This from Alex Jones - www.infowars.com/articles/terror/terror_drill_nuke_drill_go_live.htm

Remember That Alex Jones predicted the 911 attacks. AS I have posted on other blogs today - "The Fascists are surrounded by their lies. Its time for another attack. If it happens, we know who did it. Then I will cross a line that has no return." your fellow Human

In response, Bush responded:

"You see, y'all are wrong, people.

*leans forward on one elbow, scowls during pregnant pause*

It's not about exploitation or perpetuating lies.

*pulls back*

Heh heh, we're gonna have us a regular ole hoedown y'all!

*smirk and bobbing head immediately replaced by deer in headlights expression*

um...in honor of the um victims, you know."

Okay so that's not exactly true. Bush couldn't possibly string that many words together and I'm fairly certain he doesn't know how to spell, enunciate or comprehend the meaning of exploitation and perpetuating.

How much snow do they think they can blow up our fair Country's skirt before we are tired of having our genitals frozen by this bald pack of lies. If you can't get support for your iladvised and illigetimate war, hold your own march!?!

WTF, and no doubt, taxpayer dollars are going to support this. Shouldn't the fiscally conservative republicans be up in arms over this grand expense of a walk? Or, is it going to be something like the AIDS ride or the Avon Breast Cancer Three Day walk where the participants raise money for armor for our troops!
