Priceless Quotes

Step right up and get your quotes!

"You can support the troops but not the president" ---Rep. Tom Delay (R-TX)

"[The] President . . . is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy." ---Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA)

"American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy." ---Rep. Tom Delay (R-TX)

"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy." ---Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W. Bush

"I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning . . . I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area." ---Senator Trent Lott (R-MS)

"Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years." ---Joe Scarborough (R-FL)

"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today"
-Rep. Tom Delay (R-TX)

"Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?" ---Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99

"Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is."
-Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)

(Did you enjoy reading these quotes from Clinton's adversaries when Bill Clinton was committing troops to Bosnia?)

The man they call S.E.A.L. reminded me of these quotes, which I found all compiled nice and neat at USA Today. He'd like to remind us that the funny thing is, we won that war without a single killed in action.

I'd like you to take another moment and read those quotes again very carefully.

THIS IS WHY THEY ARE A BUNCH OF GODDAMN HYPOCRITS. And people who support them are CHOOSING to be led by these happy little idiots.

Flip-flop!

See, back in the day, no one had Google, Lexis, and so on. Anything lying politicians said can now be dredged up in seconds -- I LOVE IT!

Now, we just need people with backbone to stand up and berate the liars for their lies.

The "moderates" won't call them on it because they're afraid that if anyone ever awakens the non-affluent Right out of their trance, those folks, being non-affluent, would realize that a Leftist government would work for their best interests, and join the existing Left to produce a Leftist majority.

The affluent centrists are afraid a Leftist government would raise their taxes, so the "centrists" choose to enable fascism, and condemn THEIR OWN CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN to be debt-slaves of the foreigners who finance the Brobdingnagian deficits of the Elephascists, rather than suck it up and pay taxes like--oh, let's say like RESPONSIBLE ADULTS!

I bust my @$$ in a full-time job (I work nights; I'm on vacation this week). Of course I don't LIKE paying taxes--who does?--but I recognize them as the price we must pay for a civilized society. It's called being a grownup. The "moderate" whiners should try it sometime. My chief tax gripe is the fact that the majority of the money goes to people farther up the ladder than myself, rather than to help the poor souls lower down the totem pole.

Know this, O "moderates". YOU SUCK. YOU REALLY, TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY, EXTRAVAGANTLY SUCK. YOU SUCK MORE INTENSELY THAN THE SURFACE GRAVITY OF THE AVERAGE NEUTRON STAR. HOW MUCH DID YOU GET FOR YOUR SOULS???

Thanx, Firemox, for letting me rant. You rock. :)

Resistance is fertile, we will NOT be assimilated, Monster from the Id

This is the very epitome of the march of the happy hypocrites down the yellow brick road to meet with the wizard. The W, Rove and Co just hope that you won't look behind the curtain or peek up the skirt too far to see their naughty bits.

Blog on sister.

Actually it is, but their idea of a "feel good" policy is "praise the Lord and pass the ammunition."

Oh Scribe you crack me up :)

I would have to agree with SEAL (sorry, fucked up my hand today and don't have the patience for all the periods), but I would argue that the 'feel good policy' is that of trying to make the american public think we are going in to Iraq to bring them democracy and freedom being on the march and all that happy horseshit.

Great point made by this and something I knew but hadn't researched and collected like this. So, all of the warmongers of today were anti-war with President Clinton's military decisions. Figures and not suprising in the least. Of course, we could probably play the reverse game and see the support of Dems for Clinton then who has said nearly the same things about Bush this time around as the Republicans did then.

I still find it quite funny that almost without fail, my European friends say they think Bill Clinton was the best president since World War II. They say that we Americans were ridiculous to judge his personal life against his political one since he never seemed to let it interfere with his leadership of the country until "we" made a big deal of it. I am not saying I agree with that but only reporting what I've been told many times.

Their (Europeans) thoughts on Bush? That he is a laughable buffoon, a redneck bumpkin warmonger who wishes he were a world dictator, a witless puppet of big business, a con artist and liar, and a misguided religious zealot that doesn't understand the difference between his own opinions and representing the best interests of the people of his country. And that's the nice things they say about him :)

Whew! Guess I've said more than my two cents worth this time.

Back in the 90's I was a Clinton hatin' republican. Now in the 2000's I've changed quite a bit. Clinton really wasn't all that bad after all and republicans are bad. Believe me, Gov. Bob Taft has demostrated that republicans are just plain meany heads.

First of all, there was no "war" in Kosovo or Bosnia. It was a peace-keeping mission. We did have casualties. Over 300 of them. I ran the Casualty Collection Point (CCP). Lie #1 dispelled.

Secondly, there is an exit strategy for Iraq. There is no timetable for it. Bush has said all along that once a free Iraq has drafted a Constitution, elected a government and built its police and military force to the point of independent operations, we will begin withdrawing troops from Iraq. Lie #2 dispelled.

Third, "Clinton was not all that bad?" Bill perjured himself (lying under oath) in front of a federal grand jury. He was found guilty of obstruction of justice. He traded military secrets with Communist China for campaign contributions. He bombed an empty factory in Iraq the night before his impeachment hearings began. He sat on his hands time and time again while innocent Americans were being killed by terrorists overseas. He promised action and justice after each incident, and did nothing. Clinto was bad for this country and for the office of the Presidency. Lie #3 dispelled.

SergeantMack,

1. There was no "peace" in Kosovo when our troops were committed. American troops, sought to end a *war* precipitated by Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic and his dreams of a Greater Serbia attained through "ethnic cleansing."

2. The "exit" strategy for Iraq was decided AFTER the invasion began.

3. Yes, Bill Clinton purgered himself- about an extra-marital affair. Hardly as much a threat to national security as outing a CIA agent, fabricating evidence to launch the USA's first invasion of a sovereign nation. Selling the USA TO CHINA, making the USA a debtor nation, rejecting the Geneva Conventions, illegally spying on America citizens, compromising Habeas Corpus and a host of other atrocities.

He bombed an empty factory in Iraq? Yep, he sure did. Bush has murdered over 1 MILLION non-combatant men, women and children in his quest for his imaginary WMD.

You loose my friend. Bush has won the race toward complete and utter failure and deceit.
