I live in NJ. 9/11 had a HUGE impact on this area, and I was lucky enough not have someone I know perish in the towers. But I was 100% supportive of finding Osama Bin Laden and bringing him to justice whether by court or by an "accidental" shot to the skull.

Corzine's guy said he was JUST starting to hear about it and as a liberal would definitely find those statements offensive. Lautenberg's gal told me he was preparing to make an official statement to the press within about 20 minutes, and considering he's a Dem, I can only assume his words will not be kind to Rove.

Again and again we here that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, but if you believe that it is a stronghold of Islamic terrorists, then it absolutely is.
9/11 didnt' start a war against Al Qaeda, it started a war against Islamic terrorism. The Right has always believed that, and Rove just echoed the sentiment.

Look, if the Nazis would have left Germany and took up residence in Iceland, would we leave them alone? While it is true Saddam Hussein did not like us (we stopped supporting him, after all) and radical fundamentalist Islamic terrorists don't like us, it is unlikely they were having sleepovers. As Moxie said, radical fundamentalist Islamic theocracies were just as much a threat to Hussein as to us. Moreso, actually, since they were in his backyard (or he in theirs, depending on your perspective). He was a secular dictaor who sought regional dominance. They fight for a regional (if not global) Islamic state. You can see how the two, while having our enmity in common, might still be at cross-purposes, and unlikely to help each other out.
And it is true, radical fundamentalist Islamic terrorism is more than just one man. However, that one man was the mastermind of a plot that killed thousands of innocent American citizens on our own soil. So, I still say he deserves some special consideration, and should be brought to justice post-haste. Even our Great Leader promised to get him "dead or alive".
