Yes, I am Gleeful!
I'm owning my glee. Because "conservatives" will just whine about how liberals are gloating and use similar adjectives to express how devilishly we wring our hands at Bush's falling poll numbers.
So yes, I will proudly claim my glee. Because Bush's numbers are just going down and down and down. Apparently they are the worst numbers for a second term president in history (or as much as history can provide us).
I'm guessing that not all of that 51% is happy they voted for him.
It's okay though. I'm cool with it, because it seems more and more obvious that Bush needed to be elected into a second term. He's going to be the Great Uniter, but not in the way he wanted. More and more people are going to realize how bad he is for this country and by the time elections come around again, there will be a HUGE shift back the other way.
I have a feeling 2008 will feel an awful lot like 1992.

Hopefully, I'll be working for the DSCC over the summer.
I'll keep you posted on how the midterms are looking. Taking back the House and Senate would be icnredibly sweet... there are vulnerable Republicans all over the map.
It always shifts back and forth. Dems need to come out fighting and I think with Dean leading them it will have a good chance of coming back strongly. Republicans have pushed their personal agendas and egos way too far for the moderate conservatives to be comfortable. They are getting swept into the wrong direction - it will come back around.
And they say the media has a liberal bias. I see nothing on tv but people pandering to the conservatives and the religious right. Where are these people who have common sense and are tired of the daily diet of lies and propaganda? I'm so glad that they seem to be coming around, but I bet if there was more coverage of the way the majority are actually feeling, you would see people start to think for themselves and seek out some truth for a change.
