Patriot Act III: The RECKONING!

So here we are, waiting for the "Patriot Act" to get all okay'd again so we can continue to have our freedoms be chiselled away like sands through the hourglass. Those are the days of our lives.

In other news, Rude Pundit has issued a statement regarding the pope and the media's/public's perverse need to look at his dead body all day every day. It's nearly as sad as Terri Schiavo - our apparent fascination with exactly what happens to someone's body as they die. Except this time there's no white van that secrets his body off to get autopsied... now we get to look at it in vibrant Pope Colors on CNN, MSN, ABC, CBS, 123, 789, A-SPAN through Z-SPAN, and every non-pr0n goddamn website that carries streaming video! How about a channel devoted to showing the pope's corpse 24 hours a day, seven days a week! They could have "guest directors" come by and film a bunch of footage in their directoral style. There could be NYPD Blue-style, where the camera is always moving around. There could be Quentin Tarantino-style, where there's women killing people in particularly bloody fashion all around his body (they may need to encase him for that, though, so none of the fake blood stains his dressings).

Rude Pundit asks that the body be re-animated in proper zombie fashion so he can meal on the brains of homosexuals, et al. Or at least give his body a tour... Dead Pope World Tour '05! Scalpers will be selling tickets and knockoff t-shirts at the roadside.

"Dead Pope World Tour" is such a deliciously evil idea! Love it!

I'm reading a book about the many ways in which cadavers have advanced science...one of the chapters is on embalming. The Pope, apparently, has not been embalmed. It's giving me a whole new set of things to ponder.

How about some 'popeburgers'? Popecorn? Sodapope? Let's get in on the pope cash, huh? 18,000 people/hour checkin him out, they must get hungry waiting in line. Love your diatribe about popeyboy. What a fine line, hate to see it go! Religion really drives people nuts...they believe that God is watching and if they react fiercely, they will be rewarded. 70 virgins, anyone? A good reference site: Bird Poop.

Nothing relevant to your PopePost, I just wanted to say that I read your blog often, and I really like it.

I hope they modify the Patriot Act. There are now Dems and Reps against it so maybe it will be improved. It gave away too many rights too fast and for the wrong reasons. I am definitely going to write my Senators about it.
