If It's All Good, Why Hide It?

I've read some "conservative" blogs that dismiss the torture as an ugly part of war, or even fantasize about performing the torture themselves. Truthout brings us more:

The images, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told Congress, depict "acts that can only be described as blatantly sadistic, cruel, and inhuman." After Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) viewed some of them in a classified briefing, he testified that his "stomach gave out." NBC News reported that they show "American soldiers beating one prisoner almost to death, apparently raping a female prisoner, acting inappropriately with a dead body, and taping Iraqi guards raping young boys." Everyone who saw the photographs and videos seemed to shudder openly when contemplating what the reaction would be when they eventually were made public.

But they never were. After the first batch of Abu Ghraib images shocked the world on April 28, 2004, becoming instantly iconic-a hooded prisoner standing atop a box with electrodes attatched to his hands, Pfc. Lynndie England dragging a naked prisoner by a leash, England and Spc. Charles Graner giving a grinning thumbs-up behind a stack of human meat-no substantial second round ever came, either from Abu Ghraib or any of the other locations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay where abuses have been alleged. ABC News broadcast two new photos from the notorious Iraq prison on May 19, The Washington Post printed a half-dozen on May 20 and three more on June 10, and that was it.

I suppose raping women and children is cool then? Do these conservatives give a big ol' thumbs up to depictions of torture that made a Georgia republican's stomach surrender? Are their erections so painfully hard at the mere thought that there could be more perverse photos out there they haven't jerked off to yet?

If so, I'd like to ask them to make a big fucking sign to wear so my family and I can avoid them like the plague. My daughter is no more valuable than the children that were raped. Just because she is an adorable little blonde American doesn't make her any different from them. Fuck this "who cares, they're just EyeRackEees, America rules!" mentality. And if any of those sick motherfuckers think raping children is ducky, then I would like to cordially - and in the most polite and sincere way - invite them to go fuck themselves.

Now, wait just one minute there little honey, what about that "culture of life" we are supposed to get behind? I suppose torture is all a part of good Christian living.

Indeed. And to quote one proponent of that 'culture of life': "The time will come for the men responsible for this to answer for their behavior".

And I'm not talking about whatever "bad apple" patsies the administration seeks to pin this on.

Hey - they aint dead, what the hell is the problem?

Seriously though, I'd like to see (or actually volunteer a few) of the conservative "pundits" volunteer for the leash or hood routine.
